Ronald Nelson is an accomplished telecommunications and utility executive with a record of consistent top performance in business unit operations, employee engagement and customer experience.
Ronald goes by the name Ron, is married to Terry Nelson, and has three children (Ron Jr., Brian & Christy).
Ron is currently Director of Customer Service at Orlando Utilities Commission - (OUC) located in Orlando, FL.
Ron is most recognized as an organizational design SME for BellSouth, AT&T, Connexion Technologies, VXI Global and most recently, OUC. He experienced rapid advancement from agent to Supervisor, Center Manager, Director, GM and VP - managing all facets of business unit operations (residential, commercial, collections and network operations).
Among Ron's achievements include 8 Top Center (sales), 7 Pinnacle (overall performance), Company Humanitarian (service to the community), and Presidential Awards for Process Improvement.
A leader in the community, Ron served as: Youth Sports Coach, Athletic Association - Commissioner and President; Middle/High School PTA/PTO and Athletic Association President; a member of SerToMA (Service To Mankind), and member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Ron's leadership style incorporates inclusion (employee, team and community); vision and commitment (long-term goals and employee engagement); and compassion (employee development and succession planning). Ron is intuitive and decisive. He is a quick learner, solicits input from others, and capable of moving teams forward during uncertain times.
Ron is a graduate of Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, AL and Officers Candidate School, Alabama Military Academy located in Montgomery, AL. Ron has 9 years of military service.
